Quickstart

Hyperdex is a CRM that your AI agents use for you. In a few minutes you will have a workspace, an agent connected to it, and your first customer records. Hyperdex is free for everyone, including commercial use.

1. Create a workspace

Go to Start free, give your workspace a name (usually your company or team) and enter your email. You get an admin key that starts with hdx_.

The key is shown once. Store it in a password manager. Anyone holding it can read and change everything in the workspace, so never paste it into a public place or commit it to code.

2. Connect your agent

Hyperdex is an MCP server at https://hyperdex.hypervect.com/mcp. Your agent sends your key in the Authorization header. Pick your client below, or see every supported client.

claude mcp add --transport http hyperdex https://hyperdex.hypervect.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer hdx_your_key"

Replace hdx_your_key with your key. In Claude Code, run /mcp to confirm that Hyperdex shows as connected.

3. Talk to it

You don’t need to know the tool names; your agent picks them. Try these in order:

GoalSay to your agent
Check the connection“Call whoami on Hyperdex and tell me what you can do.”
Add your first records“Add Acme Corp (acme.com) to Hyperdex, and Jane Doe, their VP Sales, jane@acme.com.”
Log a conversation“Log a call with Jane: she wants a pilot in January and asked for pricing. Add a follow-up to send pricing by Friday.”
Ask a question“Prep me for my next call with Jane.”
Review the pipeline“Which deals have had no contact in two weeks?”

Behind the scenes your agent searches before creating, so asking twice for the same person updates the existing record instead of making a duplicate.

4. Give each agent its own key

Your first key is an admin key. For every other agent (an inbox assistant, a research agent, a teammate’s Claude) create a separate key with only the access it needs. Ask your admin agent:

“Use manage_agents to create a key called research-agent with crm:read and crm:write.”

The new key is shown once in the reply. Scopes are explained in Keys and scopes. If a key leaks, ask your admin agent to revoke it.

5. Teach it your way of working

Set your deal stages and write a short playbook. Every agent can read the playbook before it acts.

“Use configure_workspace to set our pipeline stages to lead, demo, trial, negotiation, won and lost, with won and lost as closed. Set the playbook to: Always log calls within an hour. Never offer more than 10% discount without approval. Prefer email over phone for first contact.”

6. Decide what needs approval

Agents propose outward-facing actions, such as sending an email or offering a discount, with propose_action. Another agent holding crm:approve, often the one you talk to yourself, approves or rejects them. Ask yours: “What is waiting for my approval?”
